This map maintains Idaho's single county split (Ada County), adjusting for population shifts in the past decade by moving approximately 35,000 residents of Ada County from District 1 to District 2. Idaho state law requires that Idaho's Congressional districts be contiguous and "strictly minimize the number of counties divided by district lines." This map splits just one county and only splits two of Idaho's 233 listed cities/towns. Overall this map minimally alters Idaho's 2010 map while ensuring equal population distribution.
