All About Redistricting

A one-stop-shop for information about the statewide redistricting process. Includes information regarding the substantive considerations that go into redistricting, the various entities and institutions involved in the process, each state’s rules, and redistricting litigation.


Plan Score

Enables anyone to upload proposed maps to evaluate their partisan impact. The tool scores proposed district maps to assess whether they may be gerrymandered.


Redistricting Data Hub:

Provides individuals, civic organizations, and good government groups the data, tools, and knowledge to participate effectively in redistricting processes by learning how to define their communities, provide meaningful public input, recognize gerrymandering, and advocate for fair and legal maps.

DistrictBuilder and the Public Mapping Project:

Redistricting projects of the United States Elections Project, DistrictBuilder is open-source web-based collaborative redistricting software. The DistrictBuilder source-code is housed on GitHub, and contributions are welcome. The Public Mapping Project used DistrictBuilder and provided large-scale integrated election and census data and other resources in support of greater transparency in redistricting across the United States.


Districtr:

A free, public web tool for districting and community identification. Enables you to make plans of your own and share them widely. In some cases, you can submit them as public input in your state.


Dave’s Redistricting App:

An online web application that allows anyone to simulate redistricting a US state’s congressional and legislative districts using a variety of census & election datasets. Maps can be optimized for different criteria.


FiveThirtyEight – What Redistricting Looks Like In Every State:

An updated tracker of officially proposed congressional maps in states where they have been proposed, and an assessment of whether they might benefit Democrats or Republicans in the 2022 midterms and beyond.
