Redistricting Principle(s) Prioritized: Least Change

The displayed redistricting plan prioritizes a least change approach, and includes minimal changes to current congressional district lines in Nevada. The map equalizes the growth in population since 2010 across all four districts and complies with the redistricting principles required under Nevada state law and prior jurisprudence within the state. Such principles include compactness, contiguity, and respect for political subdivision lines and communities of interest. The plan only splits two counties and produces minimal disruption to city and town boundaries. Due to population growth in areas outside of the Las Vegas region, the boundaries of District 1 expanded towards the eastern part of the state and the boundaries of District 4 towards the southern portion. District 2 now extends to the eastern border of the state and includes the entirety of White Pine County.
