This map aims to keep as many counties whole as possible. In particular, this map was created with the goal of keeping Boulder County whole, and keeping Denver County as whole as possible. County lines in Colorado are a little messy, so there are places where counties must be split in order to comply with the contiguity requirement. This map splits eight counties in all, but achieves this only by splitting some counties multiple times. In particular, Jefferson County (just west of Denver) is split into five different districts.
