Redistricting Plan

This map attempts to modify the California Congressional map by creating two "LBGTQ+ opportunity districts" in LA County and San Diego. Unlike the current map, it doesn't separate West Hollywood from other westside LA areas with relatively high LGBTQ+ populations. Similarly, it connects Hillcrest in San Diego with coastal communities, more akin to State Senate District 39, which has consistently elected gay candidates. As with my previous map, the district removed was CA-25 in Northern LA County. This map also does not achieve perfect population equality, with a deviation of up to 10 people, in order to keep some communities of interest intact. This plan was created for educational purposes and is not meant as a suggestion for the California Commission.
