This map creates two perfect population districts in Montana without splitting any voting districts or American Indian Reservations. The map's secondary goal is to minimize the number of counties split between the districts, although two counties and two census-designated areas are ultimately split. Political data was not considered in the map’s construction, and the map likely favors Republicans by only creating one semi-competitive district (District 1) with roughly 43.4% Democrat to 57.6% Republican vote share in the 2020 presidential election.
