This a good government map for the state of Illinois. Illinois currently holds seventeen congressional districts after losing one district in the 2020 apportionment cycle. Consequently, this plan attempts to satisfy the population equality principle while respecting political subdivisions and minimizing unnecessary splits in counties and towns. Alongside, the plan complies with relevant state and federal redistricting laws. Illinois contains two Black and one Hispanic majority-minority district.
